Postdoctoral fellowship at CEMEF : Experimental and computational study of the dispersion of carbon black and glass fibers in extrusion-mixing process
This post-doctoral subject is devoted to the study of dispersive mechanisms of agglomerated filler (carbon black, glass fibers, …) in a molten polymer matrix within mixing processes. This study will be experimental as well as computational, using a 3D finite element software code (XimeX software) developed in our gresearch group.
The post-doctoral researcher will carry out experimental studies both in the laboratory and on our industrial partners pilot line to quantify distributive (spreading out fillers within the matrix) and dispersive (breaking of agglomerated fillers) mixing efficiency of different processes.
The post-doctoral research will validate and improve different mechanical and physical models of distributive and dispersive mixing, which will be solved using the XimeX software code. Those models are developed and encoded in our software by a second post-doctoral research as well as a phd student.
