3 Year Postdoctoral Position: Frontier Methods for the Evaluation of Health Interventions

The Centre for Behaviour and Health at the UCD Geary Institute, Ireland is seeking to recruit one post-doctoral researcher to work on a new HRB sponsored programme focused on developing and testing new statistical methods for analysing experimental and quasi-experimental data.
Activities
As a post-doctoral researcher on this project you will be responsible for managing the research activity of the programme, including developing the methodological framework, disseminating in peer-review journals and directing the research assistant. The post has no teaching obligations. The programme primarily involves developing techniques to address the prevalent issues in experimental design, namely small sample inference, multiple-hypotheses testing, estimating non-standard treatments effects, and dealing with attrition and missing data. The second area of work involves using new experimental data to test the validity of a range of non-experimental and quasi-experimental methods and to quantify the different sources of bias typically found when using such methods.
Qualifications
Given the methodological nature of this project, candidates must have a strong and demonstrable knowledge of statistical and quantitative skills
Candidates must have completed, or is close to completing, a Ph.D. in Econometrics, Statistics, Mathematics, Epidemiology or a related discipline
Candidates must be experienced in programming skills (STATA, SAS, FORTRAN or another equivalent statistical programme)
Proven ability to develop and implement new methodologies
Experience of writing research papers, reports and dissertations

The post is for three years and salary ranges between €35,609 and €46,395 p.a. commensurate with experience and qualifications.
