Postdoctoral Fellow funded by IRRI - economic analysis on rice production
Philippines. IRRI is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to contribute to economic analyses in support of a regional-scale abiotic stress project on rice production in South Asia.
Responsibilities
The incumbent will conduct socioeconomic research including analysis of livelihood systems of farmers in stress-prone rainfed environments, assessment of technology needs of farmers differentiated by wealth categories, gender and other relevant variables, analysis of technology adoption patterns and constraints to adoption, and impact assessment.
Qualifications
Applicants must have a PhD in economics/agricultural economics or related discipline and should have a good understanding of agricultural production systems of south Asia and advanced skills in one or more of the following areas: household surveys, data management, econometric analysis, and impact assessment. A background in farming systems research and experience working with national agricultural research and extension systems are desirable.

The position is located at IRRI headquarters in Los BaƱos, 70 kilometers south of Manila, Philippines.
