Post Doctoral Research Fellowship – Stem cells and the retina

Salary: €38,130 to €5048,750 commensurate with experience.

We invite applications from qualified post doctoral researchers to join a project focused on investigation of therapies for retinal degenerations using stem cells of varying origin. The successful applicant will work within a dynamic and multidisciplinary team in the Smurfit Institute of Genetics with the aim of improving understanding of retinal development and disease, and optimising the identification of neural stem cells with therapeutic utility.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with relevant research experience in isolation and culture of neural stem cells. Existing experience of ocular research would be an advantage. The individual mustshould be self motivated and also capable of working as part of a team. A PhD is required as is either EU/EAA nationality OR a valid EU work permit The applicant should also hold (or have held) a Dept. of Health and Children experimental licence or EU equivalent (e.g. UK Home Office personal licence) and experience of relevant tissue culture, cell and molecular biology techniques. The Postdoctoral position is a three year contract position based at the Smurfit Institute of Genetics. Applications should include a cover letter, a comprehensive CV and the names of two referees.
