Research Assitant Positions in Health Psychology, Coventry University
UK. Two years Health Psychologist-Research Assistant positions are available within the Applied Research Centre in Health and Lifestyle Interventions, Faculty of Health and Life Sciences. The research includes undertaking interviews and conducting questionnaires with patients and clinicians, analysis and dissemination of results. You will be working with clinical psychologists and the local cancer team. Personal development is encouraged including stage 2 BPS Chartership in health psychology.
The salary range would be £20,724 - £23,886 pro rata per annum. The main purpose of this jobs is to develop, conduct, project manage and disseminate research in the peer navigator project. You will have to report to Professor Louise Wallace, with advice from Dr Nahid Ahmad, with day to day supervision by DR Belinda Hacking.
Quailified candidates are expected to have Psychology Honours (second class or above), or related social/ health/ life sciences subject. Masters in psychology or related subject including Chartership in Health Psychology will be an advantage.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and operationalise the protocol and research procedures including recruitment, measurement, data collection, storage, analysis and reporting.
* Plan and manage supervised research activity, maintain procedures, ensuring that data is stored in accordance to the data protection act, maintaining data quality assurance procedures and monitoring to ensure compliance.
* Design and conduct searches of the literature, and summarise them, to support the conduct and dissemination of the research.
* Undertake data collection through interviews, focus groups and surveys.
* Undertake data coding and quality procedures.
* Carry out statistical analyses and create reports interpreting the results.
* Draft reports and papers for monitoring purposes, for publication and other dissemination activities.
Deliver presentations both internally (to other colleagues to update them on your research area and information gained at conferences) and externally.
* Publish research undertaken through conferences and journal articles.
* Liaise internally with colleagues and externally with networks that have a shared research interest, to share information and build relationships for future collaborations.
Engage in continuous professional development through actively seeking and participating in training and development opportunities.
